Tommy Hafey

Bye Tommy - loved your work and you just being a true blue dinkum Aussie inspiration. Fantastic bloke!

Tom Hafey was invited down to take training at a club i played for,i think whilst he was coaching the pies.

Ran the drills, gave us the pep talk out in the middle. Was on a cold wet winter night, where you get chilled to the bone.

Finished with the customary indian file, and the last mad sprint to the rooms and a  shower before the hot water ran out.

Tom waltzes in the shower and promptly turns his hot water off, never seen the guys adjacent to him move so quick.

He loved the game, may he RIP.

He's a genuine 'legend', a football man who was actually bigger than football. I can't think of too many in the game who are that way, there are some who might think they are (administrators, commentators for one) but he was as legitimate a football person as he was a community and people person. He was one of those people who when he spoke, you listened and I'm glad I had the chance to meet him and hear him give a talk once for a mate's footy club night.

I remember him addressing our school assembly. He started to tear up when emploring us not to drink or smoke as he’d seen too many people cut down by them.

Just a ■■■■■■ good guy who genuinely cared about people. The World is a much poorer place without him in it.

RIP Tommy.  Wonderful straight shooting man.

I wish that we were seeing tributes from Sheedy rather than Malthouse atm.
A ***** like Malthouse telling everyone that Tommy made him the man he is today doesn't do the man the justice he deserves.
Giving Sheeds half an hour to tell Tommy stories would be time well spent.
Vale Tommy you legend.

Apparantly Sheeds has taken it very hard and is yet to comment. Im sure in a few days we will hear from him.
I hope fans from all clubs can get along Saturday and pack the place out

Does Tom have a statue at the MCG?

couple of good interviews with tommy on the richmond website that are worth a look

A great read by Sheedy. You can see where Kev got his positive outlook from.

RIP Tommy - A genuinely inspirational person.

Was at the funeral. Amazing man.
