Track Off - Rubber Soul vs Revolver

A track that’s influential to this day vs legit one of the worst they ever did?
Yeah.

I thought so.
Happy to see the format continue, if done in good faith.

Yep. Toughest one.

Any song that I’ve done at pub karaoke is always getting the nod though.

Poor Ringo.

A lot of the cool kids probably wont give Yellow Submarine the chocolates…but I do not care. Its epic. I’m an unashamed superfan.

Although I still wouldve have liked to have seen it completed as the original vehicle for Lennons voice, as theres a haunting sorta melancholy to it in the early stages.

Track 2 Norwegian v Eleanor: John’s lovely melody v Paul’s orchestral blast. Both pretentious at times, JWL’s effort is a little Dylan/adulterer tryhard for mine even if Sir JPMcC is compassionately bleak. The strings are so good on ER they still sound great alone on Anthology. Rigby adds something new while Wood is just a very good standard of tune.

Dylan went on to pretty much rip off NW with 4th Time Around.

Track 11.

Here’s an easier one, then.

  • In My Life
  • Doctor Robert

Track 3 Only Sleeping v Won’t See Me: the quality drops. Some nice ideas but neither really grabs you- You Won’t See Me at least raises the tempo and has some nice backing vocals.

Still not as easy as it should be.
