Trade Discussion 2018 thread #1 - We’re gonna need a bigger boat for the wave pool!

GWS supporter over at big footy claiming Shiel is Essendon bound said he’s being recruited by a former Giant all year

So in other words Devon Smith helping Essendon get Shiel? nice.

Who or what are we trading for all these players?

For Shiel reckons this years first+next years second+Laverde pick (if we trade him) or this year first+next years first with some change our way.

I think we will use Laverde as trade bait to get the mid we are after.

Laverde isn’t worth anything

He’s worth something but it’s probably a 3rd round pick. Doddoro will be seeking a second round tho.

I’d say we’ve probably got more value in someone like McKernan. Especially for a club that is desperate for a KP forward thats not a bean pole, can contest and take a grab.

First one seems cheap.

Second seems more like it.

I have no issue with give up our first round picks, when we are picking up players like Guelfi late in the draft.

Yeah, I’m with you.

When you look at the young talent on our list, we can do without a couple of first rounders to get a star.

I’m invested in this now, so I’ll be a bit shattered if it doesn’t work out.

Counter argument.

GWS’ Dylan Shiel rules out a move to Victoria

By Anthony Colangelo

15 July 2018 — 4:58pm

Gun GWS midfielder Dylan Shiel has declared he won’t be leaving the Giants for a Victorian club at season’s end despite speculation that he could have joined Carlton for 2019 and beyond.

The 25-year-old Dandenong Stingrays product has long been linked with a move back home to Victoria, with the most recent conjecture claiming Carlton might try and lure the 2017 All-Australian away from the Giants with what is likely to be a No.1 draft pick.

However on Sunday, Shiel was clear in his intentions for 2019.

“At this stage I’m pretty happy up here (NSW), and I’m contracted to the end of next year [2019],” Shiel told Triple M.

“I’m enjoying my time up here and I certainly haven’t looked at any options … I can rule that [a move to Victoria] out.

“Like I said, I haven’t spoken to any clubs about that. I am able to get away with not reading into too much of the media."

If DS recruits DS, that’ll catapult DS from recruit of the year to greatest recruit ever.

Shiels won’t be a bomber next year. He’s still contracted for next year.

Except devon

No one ever lies about being trades… ever.

Not mid season

I can’t remember a time a Connors client has wanted out and not got to his desired club - contracted or not.

It’s definitely great being on the good side of Conners.

In fairness to connors (can’t believe i’m saying this) would you want your clients to go to absolute basket case of a club circa essendon 2012-16?
