GWS want him off the books. He’s costing $600k a year. They’ll definitely get him for 42.
Stewart, not best 22 when he got injured.
Smack 30 next year.
Brown 30 next year.
Gown, not best 22.
And I’m not talking about the forward line as a whole. I’m talking about deficiencies in our ruck/tall KPP needs across the ground.
When Daniher, who has a brother who retired from OP, went down with the condition in 2018, a responsible list management approach would have been to mitigate against Joey being out long term, by trading in another 1 good tall, minimum… in '18
Instead we sold the farm and got another quick outside mid in Shiel… to go along with Zerret, Mcgrath, Mckenna, Raz etc.
So we’ve got Gown and Zerk (who knows), relying on a GWS reject in Stewart and guys nearing the end of their career, to cover the genuine KPP tall needs we have in 2020/21.
If Dods finds good, ready to go replacements for our ruck and KPP needs in the draft/trade… all is forgiven. But if the doesn’t, and it’s a big ‘if’… well he’s farked up big and 2020/21 is about rebuilding not priming
Not if Cameron goes!
He is my favourite villain.
I don’t think it will be much more than that tbh, he didn’t fair too well in the BnF which shows how the coaches value him. Of course, he could explode and go all “Dustin Martin” on everybody then he’ll have earnt a big pay rise.
Depth players aren’t meant to be best 22. That’s the whole point. They’re cheap and they cover injuries.
I think he will because other clubs would value him a lot higher than that. I’m not talking $800k though. But somewhere in the middle.
why the ■■■■ do teams pull their pants down to hand players to hawthorn for nothing.
Frost is an AFL level fullback. Surely he is worth more than a future 2nd round pick.
What a ■■■■ club Melbourne are.
Dodoro and Silvagni probably working out the Phillips to Essendon for a late pick details.
He’s more of an anti-hero imo, a Punisher type of character

If depth are playing 10+ games next year, particularly in important positions, we are not ‘primed’.
Depth is fine when it’s likely your best 22 will play most games. Otherwise you need to be Richmond.
It’s highly likely Hooker, Belly and Joey will not play most games next year, at the level a top 8 team needs… forget about 2021. And this could’ve been forseeen before the last draft/trade period.

I don’t know. Seems a terrible decision maker
Hawks effectively get Patton and Frost for a future second pick…which is probably going to be worse than or close to 42 with all the academy/ father son kids next year.
Again, that’s what happens when you’re highest paid player is injured. But we’re going around in circles.

Frost to Hawks
Sam Frost has been traded to Hawthorn, along with picks 42, 61 and a future fourth round selection. Melbourne in return has received picks 50 and a future second-round selection from the Hawks.
Welcome to Hawthorn, Danny Jacobs.
the hawks are masters of this game
They must be running a “Dirt Department” - where they have dirt on someone at every other club, so as to always get the upper hand on any trade.
With Snelling (added mid-year) + a second Irishman…our list spots are really getting tight…we don’t need many draft picks, we will be seeking quality more than quantity.
Frost is pretty average. Getting games because there’s nobody better. There’s a good player in there somewhere with his athleticism but he’s proven to be pretty horrible with his foot skills and decision making.
I never said we should go for him !
