Be pretty surprising if the top 30 from the draft central mock draft was identical to the top 30 in the real thing though, so you’d expect we’d have access to some of those players. Whether we’d actually be interested in the ones that are available is another question entirely.

The talent in the draft drops off after the first 15 are picked after that it’s a lucky dip. the talent pool just isn’t big enough imo

Surely we have to give it some time.
I hope the club is pouring in a lot of resources to developing our areas but it’s going to take some time.
By the time we get our act together I’m sure the AFL will swoop in and take those areas off us.
Random thought, but if Melbourne take Jackson at 3 as expected, and he can apparently play 12 games next year as a forward, should we now target Weideman as a JD replacement? Out of favour this year.

I only realised last night that they have separated the first round from the rest of the draft. It means we won’t pick anyone until tomorrow unless Jackets waves his wand and plucks us a first rounder.
WHEN AND WHERE IS IT?
THE 2019 NAB AFL Draft will be held over two days once again – but this time both events will be held at night. The first-round of the draft will be held on Wednesday November 27, while the remainder of the national draft will be held on Thursday November 28. The Pre-Season and Rookie Draft will be held at 10am on Friday November 29, with Marvel Stadium to host the two-night event.
yeh tonight is sort of a non event for us.
And no pick trades can be announced now until the draft has started 7pm tonight…so even if Dodoro has done a deal for Richmonds pick 19 and 2020 3rd round for pick 33 and our 2020 first round. It cannot be announced yet.

My guess would be, if we are trying to trade up, I’d think we’d wait for the first round to finish, see who’s left, and if there’s anyone we really like, gauge where they’re likely to go and make a play.
Plenty of time to plan/scheme overnight.
Silly question, but don’t we want to keep our 2020 First round pick because its a stronger draft?
Are there better options that we can pick up that clubs could potentially let go of? He could see the writing on the wall
I would rate Weideman a better contested mark than Brown. He is also a good kick, but doesnt get enough footy. Not sure how he would go being the sole guy if Daniher left. Has struggled without Hogan
I would probably rate him similar to Stewart at this stage (if Stewart can get on the park) might go ok as a second or third tall.
Priority should be selecting a tall forward we rate in the 2019 draft - Harrison Jones/ Jake Riccardi / Emerson Jeka.
