Trade talk - from August 2024

I have no problem with your logic on this

Menzies spot will be taken, Gresham will keep his spot until we get another quality forward, maybe end of next year. I think he’s just a stopgap anyway

besties with Ben Simmons who we then sign as a Cat B ruckman.

Yuck. Simmons is a flog too.

How knows if he would take us to a grand final but we don’t have a serious superstar player on our list we have Merrett how is a solid a grader.
I would probably entertain the idea of the trade especially if it was future first plus wright and one of parish tstatas or Perkins

If the blues are willing to trade Harry McKay for Petracca then Id start to think about what we would need to give up to get Harry McKay. Petracca is a gun but we don’t need another fwd/mid that’s in their late 20’s.

A key forward Coleman medalist that is mid 20’s on the other hand is exactly what we need

It definitely might make McKay consider hes options if he’s name keeps being thrown out

A future first when we are every chance of having a top 4-5 pick next year.
No thanks
We need to play the long game and build through the draft.
No more quick fix Band-Aid solutions

That is no criteria for moving on. A 100+ game experienced person with talent, you don’t give them away.

Richmond was stacked with role players, as was hawthorn in their great runs

Parish and Wright for Patracca? That would go a long way got balancing our side. If we play Draper forward.

We could also let go of Stringer and play Trac 50/50 fwd/mid, allowing one of Tsatas to come in.
That gets rid of Wright, Stringer, and Parish who are all on the slower side. And gets in Trac, Tsatas, and Kako who are all faster and more agile.

I’m warming to the Trac idea, I just dont want to loose draft capital,. But if he keeps going nuclear and killing his value, all the better.

Melbourne could do with Shiel :eyes:

Yep, that’s what I would have expected. They saw his defensive pressure in the midfield and thought twice. That means we are stuck with him, and Brad will likely keep playing him.

At least we ended up getting back Jye Caldwell, as his draft pick was part of what we gave to GWS in that trade.

Speaking of snelling

Honestly think I’d have preferred seeing him in the team to Menzie or Gresham this year

Ffs are we ever going to be rid of one of the worst trades in our history?

It’s just never ending.

Campbell and Dodoro still f*cking us over.
