I agree but we are in a soft rebuild phase so no point kicking that can down the road, we need to consolidate young talent now especially in a reported strong draft.

Doesnā€™t mean having to sell the farm but should be entering negotiations with this strategy in mind.

Iā€™d say he is a good chance to be delisted. Lions need list spots as they will get a bunch of picks in a trade to match Ashcroft bid and need the list spots to match picks.

I would say Prior is more a DFA option for us

You canā€™t ā€œpay for their contractsā€, you can only pay for the year that theyā€™re still under contract for your club, and the same amount of money. Iā€™m guessing that would be around 1 year on 500k for Stringer, and probably 1 year on 600k for Shiel.

Another way to look at it is we are giving up 2 (combined) years worth of two players for 12 years of one player.

Nino is on record for only worrying about 1 season at a time, he can only see 2025. Heā€™s building a single list for a single year. 2026 can wait until next trade period.

If only this was true.
Iā€™m all for moving Stringer and Shiel on to play more kids but if we move them both on and then replace them with other old hacks like Membrey Iā€™ll lose my ā– ā– ā– ā–

There isnā€™t that much value there to get for them tbh. They are both older players that are near their ends. They are also players that havenā€™t, and will not take us further.
