The only interesting bit I heard was we’ll look at taking 3 to 4 picks in the draft, so we need to trade some things to get the extra few picks we need.

Not much the club can do if there are no takers.
Gotta say - Twomey and even Beveridge are absolute pros. To cover all of that ground including even Baldwin (basically everything we are speculating on here) and to be across the detail is very impressive.
So much better than everyone else.

HOBBS TO STAY AFTER STONE’S DONS SNUB
Essendon will not be trading former first-round pick Ben Hobbs after the Bombers missed out on runner Conor Stone.
In a boost for GWS, the athletic goal kicker has recommitted to GWS despite Jake Stringer’s attempt to join him next season.
It means the Bombers-Giants trade for Stringer will likely centre on a draft pick such as GWS’s 53 or 56.
The Bombers were keen on Stone and had been in advanced talks about their attempts to poach him.

If it’s 3 to 4 draft picks that we use that aligns to draft picks we have at this point.
We have delisted/retired 5, but we have one extra on the list because of the mid-year pick. So 4 would be using all our picks if we were retaining everyone in limbo (Setterfield, Weed, Davey - unless I missed someone) plus Stringer stays.
At this stage that seems unlikely, so we would then have space for an SSP or for another mid-season pick.
Honestly, given it’s been two seasons in a row now, I actually expect Shiel to end up elsewhere.
If things still aren’t set in stone, Rosa isn’t exactly going to come out and say ‘yeah, he’s gone’. It may well have just been the diplomatic answer rather than the full truth.

He was just having a punt each way, and his statement may not have been fully reflective of the true odds.
