Trade talk - from October 2024

Hypothetical question - if Melbourne / St Kilda were to bid on Kako before our pick, are they allowed to live trade for our pick 9 (with a future first)?

who cares, let’s embrace bottom 4 and get some decent picks

40 is a lot, but I agree Perkins should be playing more permanent forward minutes and could have a 25-30 goal season.

But yeah, I’m well on the record as still being very bullish on Perkins, although the bandwagon has thinned out…

Wasn’t there a stat the other day that scores started by Jake’s direct opponents was the worst in the league.
He probably cost us far more than the 42 he kicked

Because all our chips are rubbish. The only player we have with real value is Merrett

Not me. Be great if he just disappeared into the sunset

We will essentially need atleast 8 players to step up big time next year and become solid contributors that are consistent

Unless we start the season 0-5 dont see us finishing bottom four Stringer going wont make much of a diffrence we still have a fair bit of talent that will win enough games to avoid bottom four

who cares? it’s irrelevant if we can bring our avg points against down by 10-15 per game.

Including the club and Scott himself. Anyone know what his strategy is?

Barham and the board have put trust in Scott that he doesn’t deserve.

I think you’d make it clear that you wouldn’t trade 9 to them under any circumstances.

Just caught the news of Stone staying on at GWS. Wife likes GWS and so have watched a large number of their games. I am confidently saying we dodged a bullet with Stone. Will be delisted in two years and would have only been in our team to compete with Menzie for whipping boy of the week. What worries me is why we targeted him in the first place. Smacks a bit of desperation in trying to appease outsiders with a shiny new toy having cast off a number of team stalwarts.

Richardi is a spud lol… Jake straight into the forward line.

he’s been playing well down back in the VFL, we just lost 3 defenders - would give us flexibility with Martin/Roberts/SEH

that said, not fussed he’s staying

On overall list plan …Matt Rosa

ā€œI think they were important acquisitions last year, to be able to bring in four players that filled specific list needs for us.

ā€œBut we have a strong core of players that we feel there’s going to be plenty of growth from within.

ā€œWe’re still always looking to explore all avenues to bring in talent, whether that be free agency or delisted free agents. This year we haven’t explored the trade market because we are really keen to hit the draft and keep bringing in young talent.

ā€œClearly we’re spending a lot of time to make sure we’ve got the best environment tin the footy club where they’re going to develop and thrive.

ā€œWe’re going to have a younger list next year potentially, which will create opportunities for youth. As we saw this year with guys like Nate Caddy and Archie Roberts they showed some real promising signs.

ā€œEspecially with some of the list changes we’ve made, there’s going to be plenty of opportunity for youth and our player and fans should be exciting about that.ā€

He and the board have no choice but to make it work after the upheaval he created if not then we are compelelty farked not sure where the club can go next if it happens

42 goal forward. Get with the program.

This really clears things up…

Nothing is happening where trade radio has to get the likes of Ben Brown and Mitch Mortin in the studio so they can have things to talk about lols
