Trade talk - from October 2024

Yeah. People come and post on internet forums because they definitely don’t care what people think

We can’t pay his wages for 2 years. We can only pay what’s left on his current contract with us, which is 1 year at a rumored $400k.

You don’t have to call me Christ! Our Lord will do.

I guess then that Archie is your Valentine pinup.

I have no idea what that means Bacchus. Is it pension day or something? Youve clearly had a few too many pots.

Surely the club isn’t stupid enough to not realise this list is anywhere near playing finals

Gone from October Premiers to Wooden Spooners. Only good things can come from this transformation. Long may it continue :muscle:

Is it done yet? Stringer that is…

Imgaine telling the players pre season “Guys the list is not good enough forget about finals in 2025 we are aiming for bottom four”

I’m sure guys like Merret will be fine and dandy with that plan

Can we try and get Jake to nominate GC?
We should be able to get their 2024 first, 2025 first, Anderson and Rowell for Jake with the way they are trading.

Why?

Too bad, Merrett had his chance to leave and can still put in a request if he wishes

Its not too bad. if the club wanted to go full scale rebuild they should have told Merret this is the path we are going down wheh he was ooc its too late now

Do we give gws stringer and our F1 for there pick 15 and f2.
Then try and package pick 9 and 15 to Melbourne for pick 5.

Gives the dees there 2 x 1st round picks they want , and get ahead of any Kako bid so we get a 1st rounder and kako

The point is to get ahead of a Kako bid, not behind one.

As it stands, we should be taking a top 10 pick and Kako. With that trade, we likely go behind a Kako bid, so the first pick becomes wiped out by his bid and then we get to take the second. So we’ve effectively gone from Kako + top 10 to Kako + late first round. Admittedly this would help with points for matching his bid but we should be trying to do this with later picks as this will help us maximise our existing currency (generally easier to go back than forward).

We haven’t gone full scale rebuild though otherwise Merrett, Parish, McGrath, Redman etc would be on the trade table.
We are once again going the half arsed measure where we sack a few spuds and call it a rebuild

Why do people keep wanting picks that will be eaten by a Kako bid?? Do you understand how the points system works??

Can I ask what you think makes him a Primma Donna?

Our future first will most likely be a top 5 pick, would be insane to trade that away.

And they didnt.

We now have no choice to try and get some success with the current list at least by winning a final or 2

If we go to 17 20 and 31 then Kako bid takes out 17.

Then we have 20 and 31.

So we actually get more talent.
