Pretty sure Lester is a FA, but isn’t he 34?
He’s old for sure but I’d take him over Doedee as he is an accountable defender. Wasn’t sure if he a FA or not. Tbh, if we’re chasing defenders and leadership then I’d be throwing a few sheets to Jeremy Howe.

Absolutely, Howe would be up their with Neale as our priorities.
We also need an experienced ruckman; I have serious doubts about Bryan and they didn’t change today with his 0 marks.

I’m over Bryan tbh. Happy to keep him on the list but he still doesn’t look strong enough to me and lacks competitiveness. A Dodoro special you could say.

There are other Brisbane players who are in a similar position to Doedee. To be honest, I don’t see the point in bringing in a player who you dont attend to play. Its a waste of a list spot.
If we actually get this assistance package with extra list spots, Im having an eye on Boston Dowling in the VFL. 207cm ruck, and just looks like under an AFL system could really make him a bargain pickup.

Are you using the reason that we would have been fined for not meeting the salary cap minimum? Because if you don’t have players worth the long, front ended contracts, then paying the fine just seems like good business.

You think it is not “rubbish” that Jones was signed on again and for longer years when he should have been delisted? That people like Parish should not have got such long contracts?
strewth made a good point. Contract mismanagement has certainly been an issue (and was as recently as the Draper SNAFU).
