Those 4 2nd rounders would get you another top 12 and a F2 I reckon. Especially on draft night when players start to slip and slide.

If Gold Coast send 7/8 to Melbourne, even if pick 24 comes back, they’ll be miles short on points. You could (potentially) target 15 and Fiorini for two of our 2nd rounders, target Adelaide’s 14 with the other two.
You’d then be looking at 5,6,9,14,15 . Theoretically. And then do something predraft / mid draft to move a couple of those around.

Spot on. In reality FS, Academies are in place years in advance and rarely go anywhere other than expected Pick 9 is pick 9. We will get the 9th best available player in draft.
Compo picks do hurt but 
Im sure the club knows despite the Vic draft pool being concentrated this year there are plenty of high end interstate talent this year, SA in particular.
Take the picks for Merrett and let’s move forward.

Why would Adelaide sell their pick? Do they have academy round that mark?
The whole McKenzie doesn’t want to go to the Dons is most likely more Hawthorn porkies.
