Trade talk - from September 2025 (Part 9)

Lol yes but he didn’t want to play for Melbourne and wanted a trade last year.

So by my calculations merret should be worth half the patracca deal so pick 9 & 10

I would be happy with that. Haha

Yeah so Zac has 2 years to run on on his contract and Hawks shouldn’t pay overs because they cant afford it? fark them. They should be paying overs they are in the premiership window picks shouldn’t matter to them

It wasn’t a crap offer. It was a fair offer, we wanted overs

I dont mean to sound like a broken record, but of course we did he was CONTRACTED the same as patracca, haha

Won’t have to worry about in 2 years. I’m going to love it when he walks for nothing in 2 years and we are still rabble. Let’s see how much swagger that farkwit Welsh has then

The result of today was always going to disappoint someone.

Essendon now needs to expedite the development of it’s young players as a result of today.

I don’t think we’ll truly know whether today’s choice was right or wrong, until a few years time.

The offer was ■■■■. Move on. Go to bed.

Your banking on him still either wanting out then, or the hawks still wanting him then. He may be on the scrap heap by then.

Anything is possible

Wouldn’t say Welsh is a farkwit.

Seems like he’s done well post footy in the business world. He’s 2 weeks in the seat. I’ll give him a chance.

It’s nowhere near bedtime.

All this has done is set us back but I’m going to love revisiting this in a few years and handing out some serves to the clappers

See if we can get pick 15 from Suns for 21 & 27. Keep 30 for Sweid.

Picks 5, 6, 15, Sweid & Huss would be a great haul.

What’s FC’s plan with Dean? Use 10, protect 11?

I liked this. Pretty much how I saw it.

Hawthorn’s sheer arrogance along with Petroro’s cost Hawthorn this trade. Their offer wasn’t unreasonable as a starting point but HH inclusion was pointless. After the first offer was rejected they needed to add 2027 F1 or at least 2026 2nd pick. I think it might have made a difference. Maybe not. But their arrogance intimating Essendon is a broken club so we can pillage their best player got Welsh’s back up. They completely hashed this. A fair offer wasn’t ever going to get this done when it was a contracted captain.

It’s a terrible situation for all three parties.
Essendon are…probably the most dudded of the three?
But Hawthorn look the most stupid. I’m not saying they’re value equivalent.

Hawthorn: we’ll just keep offering them the same thing. They’ll cave. Soon as that deadline gets close. They’ll come running to us. Any moment now. We don’t need any other options. This will work. Right through that door. Real soon…
