Trade talk - Tobe or not To Be (Part 12)

Don’t port need pick 7 to match the bid

5 and 12 would be enough

Agree. And it quite possibly because it’s a salary dump @Stressed_out

Maybe it is in play, I don’t really know but I suspect Pickering is trying to get a few more dollars for his client. I also don’t believe Miers really wants out either but who knows

But they are trading pick 5 and they can get a better price for it. What incentive is there for Port to trade pick 7 to us instead of 5 to Richmond?

Not saying they would, but I would test the water. It is then up to them to determine which offer gives them the best return.

Can’t remember the last time we had that many indigenous players on our list let alone in one game.

Yeah $$ but also security with that knee. Cats probably won’t budge on the 2 years he is on. Would essendon go to 4 years and more $.

Dont think WC wanted too, so that fell over. Maybe we will….

I miss having good indigenous players. We used to be just about the best club at developing indigenous talent. Completely disappeared.

I just read through approx 400 posts in the old thread, only when it got to the Stringer talk did I realise I’d read all this last night (I was just drunk)

What a waste of time… twice

Yeah does not compute.

There are 5 top open draft prospects then a gap to the next large cohort.

Drever, HVH, Mellody, Tex and Butler. They will go top open draft 5. With Dougie and Walker copping bids

There’s only a 252 point difference between them, don’t think they’d let it go much cheaper (if at all)

7+12 = 2683 points, so they match with a 17 point deficit (effectively nothing)
5+12 = 2935 points, so they match with a 235 point surplus, giving them pick 41 in return.

Richmond has blown everyone out of the water with their F1 trade for pick 5. Very ballsy and no future high end father son next year to have to worry about so it makes sense. Jealous.

Is that official yet?

Not yet, early reports it might be on offer. Assume there might be a swap of later picks too back their way.

Whee, a forward line made up of three old guys in a bottom-out rebuilding year. No room for Huss or May, not to mention any of the new draftees. Be still, my beating heart…

I reckon if we offered our FF1 and a pick swap, 27 for 32 that gives Port a decent deal in comparison to a Port / Tigers 1st swap.

Tiges get 5, Port end up with Cochrane, 24, 32, Rich F1

We get 7, 32, Port end up with Cochrane, 24, 27 40 Our FF1

Obviously final picks depend on FS and NGA picks.

Next person to bag Stringer is gonna wake to a horses head beside them in their bed.

Stringer is my favourite player since Hirdy. Bring him the Fark back.

That was one month after doing the injury. I would guarantee the response would be very different 5 months later.
