I doubt they will split it, Sydney will be fuming. I guess it comes down to how much leverage Sydney have. It doesn’t sound like the relationship is any good for Blakey to go back so maybe North push the boundaries?
For me Miers would cost too much at the trade table and I’m not convinced a 29 year old with and ACL hanging on by a thread is a great move for us currently.
In any case I think this one is probably close to zero chance of happening
any chance on getting involved with the Sydney/North trade with players or possibly picks. We won’t get 6 but might be able to get a F1 or F2 or even off load a McKay or Parish to Sydney who probably need players rather than just more picks as they are in the window now. McKay ironically is the player they need given Hamling is still getting games pity Ben is shot.
Ok my bad on that, had it in my mind he would be 29 at end of contract but forgot he still has 2 years to run on it.
I still wouldn’t be keen and I honestly don’t think he is either
I felt this was a compelling post, it swayed me. It’s possibly why he passed his medical at West Coast. I agree on trade value though, Geelong will want a bit.
For me, if we are going to look at trading up, I would hit up Port for their pick 7. It won’t cost as much, I would just offer our pick 1 from 2028. With that I would look at the following
: 1 - bid on Cochrane
: 2 - Drever
: Port pick - Malady
: 17 - Bradley
: 21 - Dimer
: 22 - Macgowan
: 27 - Patterson / Wigmore
Explain to me why a preliminary finalist would want a player who was dropped to the VFL by the wooden spoon team. And why they would pay a future first or second round pick for said player.
