I’m happy Walla’s back out there, being supported by the rest of the team, etc… but he’ll be 29 in April and typically most senior players around that age tend to lean up to help extend their careers (Hooker, Hawkins, Lewis, etc), not go the other way.

He’s just such a special player and person, it would truly be a shame for him not to have a long career into his mid 30’s given his natural ability, late start to his career, luck with injuries so far, etc.

Go well, Walla. :heart::black_heart:

Also the drills were all very purposeful 3 on 4s practicing using this advantage. And then during match sim it was defence transitioning the ball forward with a number advantage into outnumbered forward line. Great to see the full oval being used with lots of width with wings/forward flankers working hard wide often unrewarded to create space down the middle.

I was really impressed and am thinking that everyone on the list will be thinking they are ready for an opportunity on the the big stage. Match selection is going to be super tough this year.

Love hearing that, thanks mate!

Leave Walla alone guys, he’s having a really tough time, just needs support, not bullshit from ā– ā– ā– ā– ā– ā– ā– ā– ā–  on the internet.

Cafe at night? Is that the equivalent of asking the new apprentice to run to Bunnings and get a left handed hammer?

I don’t think there’s any bullying towards Walla. More concern, worry and care.

Twitter could be another beast. The guy has really felt the pressure from fans in the past.

Yes. I’d like to think everyone here has his best interests at heart & wish only the best for him.

NKOTB ?

This has been a problem of his from the moment he played his first senior game.

No doubt as a junior he’s had the skills and the smarts to out-twist and out-turn his opponents and take his time to find the best attacking option.

Players don’t have that luxury at senior level. It has to be take the first option and execute it properly.

It’s Archie’s second year. I have confidence in him and in the coaches. He’ll get it right. It won’t happen overnight, but it will happen. (I think Abraham Lincoln said that.)

Shout out to @karmabomber for his pre-season snaps on Instagram as well! :ok_hand:t2:

Indeed, let’s not forget he’s also copped racism on there too, and we aren’t overly endowed with people to lean on who can understand what he’s going through in that regard and the isolation of it all.

Did the club just leave him to it through the off season? After making him do 6 weeks of mini-training program and working on his mental health, did they then just not follow up?

Why didn’t they have welfare people keeping in touch?

Very sad situation. My favourite player and only current player who gets me off my seat.

You got our support Walla…
