Great report Jackie.

How were Zerrett and Cooney?

Really expecting big things from them both this season.

Zerret continues to be pivotal. Cooney still has his leg strapped but trained ok without standing out.

Thanks mate, you are a champion.

Any news on Laverde? He was away last friday, was he in modified or away again today?

Thanks again JM for the report.

Good to hear that Dalgliesh is showing some promise. I like of what little I’ve seen of him and
I believe that if he continues to improve could become a dangerous player for us.

By the way, did he spoil Daniher’s mark at the
highest point?

Keep up the good work Jackie.

Perhaps I should have explained he managed to get an arm in and spoil a chest mark like Fletcher does - bêtter than jumping and punching it away from outstretched hands.

Modified. Working with Zaka. Seemed to be moving freely. Maybe some soreness that is being managed?

Had a nice morning there today with my youngest.

Add to the above, in no particular order…

…was great to see Watson & Daniher in the cafe
…Carlisle is angry. Cocky, aggressive, marking well, kicking well, and looking strong
…I think I can kick better at goal than Hepps - and I’m not a great kick…
…It wasn’t so much Kav that Hirdy gave a spray to, but to the defensive group who left a hole down back
…Felt for Pears who jogged around, and kicked a few balls. Hope the game hasn’t passed him by
…Daniher’s kicking has improved out of sight
…Bags doesn’t effin miss. He was with the forward group again at the end…he must be swinging forward at some stage

Thanks again everyone, love your work!

Training in mild overcast conditions on the McCracken Oval.

Highlight of the day though was to see grandpa Tim Watson and Terry Daniher in the Sheedy Cafe before training. Brought back the best of the eighties straight away.

Terry Daniher in a cafe. What has the world come to?

Cafe is just an uppity name for a tuck shop.

Is Bags the goal sneak we’ve always wanted?

Good to hear that Watson and Daniher are doing well. Two of my favorites, and their younger repos are no slouches either. Thanks JM, much appreciated.

Please tell me TD was drinking cans of VB in the cafe, this is how I always will remember him (and Vanda).

Bags was having lots of set shots last pre-season, too.

LOL. Has shiteloads of the annoying pr*ck factor required.

Lol. Anyone think Hird learned more than a bit of his coaching skillz from Sheeds?

“Wow, everyone, we found one of the best gritty back pocket stoppers in the competition with a rookie pick from a state league. WE MUST TURN HIM INTO A FORWARD RIGHT AWAY!!1!ONE!”

  1. Pick up half back flankers.
  2. Send 'em everywhere.

FWIW I don’t want him in the forward line.

The Puopolo role?

I’m hoping for a few Licka-esque moments where he suddenly appears out of nowhere, takes a mark in the forward 50 and kicks a goal then heads back to defence.

Don't like the look of Cooney's strapping.

Looks like a dressing to me rather than strapping. Maybe a bad cut/wound of some kind?

Edit: D’oh, already confirmed.

The Puopolo role?

WANT

Bags plays such an important role down back, and the only person I can see evolving to that role would be Ashby.
