But the 1993 side also had about 11 players who had played in one or both of the 1984 and 1985 premiership sides and/or in the 1990 Grand Final.
The 2021 Essendon side has Stringer alone by way of comparison.

Yes that’s true, but of the other teams I mentioned only Collingwood had any Grand Final experience and that was only a few of them 9 years previously.
Look I’m not saying we’re going to make the 8, top 4, win the premiership or any of those things, it’s just as possible we could finish last if lots of things go wrong.
What I don’t believe is we’re certainties for bottom 4 as a lot on here are saying, or that we can’t make top 4. We would need to have a lot go right as most teams do, but the potential is there and as I’ve shown from examples it happens very regularly.
And I only showed examples of teams that played in the grand final or finished top 2, not the teams every year that rise from the middle if the ranks to top 4 contention which happens virtually every year, often unexpectedly.

Don’t know about anyone else here but Jones looks bloody cooked in that photo with Cahill, and what is it with Zaka always hanging out with the young blokes I reckon there’s something wrong with that unit
So Zacka is in the wrong for hanging with the young guys and Merrett is criticised because he doesn’t?

I love your positivity nackers. I agree, anything can happen if we have a good run with injuries. We have been plagued with injuries to our best players for too many years We need a Brisbanesque year this year. I would love to know what their secret is - is the medical system at the Mater hospital that fantastic? …possibly. I just had my 18th grand-child born there a month ago and the staff definitely were special.

That’s not what I meant every year you see zacka go to the young lads it appears to me and this is my opinion that he doesn’t grow up
Good to see Zaka being a good influence on the youngsters…
Or maybe he’s a leader and mentor that goes the extra yard to help the younger guys to feel accepted and part of the team

Well personally, I think the photo was taken as backdrop support material in an advertisement from the Essendon Football Club seeking to fill the role of “Supplements Supervisor”.
