Clarke trained but didn’t impress in the time I was there.
In some of the drills he was up against Rutten on occasion. Rutten is a pretty big boy.
LAV?
Gleeson took part in the match practice and was moving unimpeded from my point of view. Getting stuck in.
After the match practice they all broke up into smaller groups and Gleeson was with a group including Brown, Mossie, Houlahan, Jok, Begley, Redman and maybe one other - perhaps it was Mynott (?).
This group is essentially VFL players which made me think that perhaps Brown wont be in the team on Saturday.
The point here is that Gleeson was involved in all the vigorous tackling and wrestling exercises. A lot of twisting and straining. He came through all that ok as far as I could see. It was physical. These boys were pushing themselves. Probably bragging rights at stake.
Mossie has a long way to go in this department - very keen but does not the strength at the moment.
Isn’t it the case that due to an ongoing issue with his feet/ankles/shins/calves/knees (can’t remember which) TBC is always on a very light training regime.
Surely there is a limit to how long a player can be on such a regime before it starts to see the player lose fitness (compared to his opponents).
Lav trained on the second oval with three or so other injured players whilst match practice was on. With Zerk, Long and someone else I think.
I wish he could get fit and have a fair dinkum run at it. He would be a great asset.
Thanks
I wouldn’t worry about him.
I have it on good authority that he doesn’t play to instruction, racks up meaningless possessions and is lucky to be playing AFL.
Allegedly.
How’s Ham travelling?
I heard he is cured.
and a smokey for anzac day

TBC going at half pace.
that sound about right!
Great. Another thread spam’d with ham puns.

These players generally build fitness as the season goes on. If they get injured they end up so far behind though.
I think TBC’s knee/s are the issue.
I suspect he is more likely to be rested against the Roos than Brisbane with an 8 day break leading up, and then 2 x 6 day breaks after that.
Partner TBC with Draper this week, then bring in Z Clarke with Draper against the Roos and then make the call on the best combo against the Pies.
Really see it that way?
Last year was his career best year - Luey was cooked by about May/June.
Pretty sure it’s Belly’s foot that restricts him. He had a serious foot problem around 2014 or so, and I don’t think he has done a pre season since.
He said the year off fixed it. Prolonged his career.
Something seems off. The foot could be it, but every chance it’s something else.
Bellcho being lined up for Blitz whipping boy of the week. Thought he did okay v arguably best big man in the country

If your foot is off it’s not good.
Agreed. Foot hygiene is important
