Preparations are in full swing for round four, with Essendon completing its main session at The Hangar on Wednesday.
The Bombers will go head-to-head with the undefeated Brisbane Lions from 2:10 at the MCG on Saturday, while Essendon VFL has a bye weekend after its season-opening win over Frankston.
Below is a selection of the clubâs snaps from the track.
I love big Tommy B and I donât believe heâs cooked by any stretch, but heâs not playing anywhere near his best and a week in the twos could help him regain a bit of form. I really want Sam Draper to debut this week.
Stefan Martinâs a quality ruckman. Draperâs taller by about 4cm and a few kgs heavier but Martin knows exactly where to put his body and pivot his weight. I wouldnât expect Draper to beat Martin but if he could halve a few contests I reckon heâd do better than TBC and learn heaps in the process.
EDIT: if you scroll up and look at the picture of Draper vs Bellchambers you can see how Sammyâs going to win it. TBC is trying to plant himself but Samâs putting all his muscle into lifting Tom so that he loses his base. Natural smarts from a young guy whoâs been playing the sport for less than five years.

Wonderful to hear about two guys that are showing lots of real hunger in Begley & Redman. Not a pusseeee amongst them.
I want both in the side pronto.
Time we had more dead set tough kunts in the side with a burning desire to win every single ball & smash some heads in as well. Old school footplayers that are young, good and can be intimidating in need. Bring out the unsocialable ones, not the joker touchy feely I wanna be your fake friends types who laugh and talk with the opposition after games.
You know who they are. Zaha for one.
