True, good idea.

Suss out Peach. It’s their budget airline (but it’s Japanese so the service is still good). Often have sales/ridiculously cheap flights. We booked flights from Osaka to Fukuoka one trip - the return leg was priced at 10 yen.

Depending too, if you flew ANA or JAL, you can have international discounts that the locals don’t. Be aware for both there is domestic bookings (for residents) and international domestic bookings (for those with passports). If you fly business it’s all free domestic flights (may have been a promotion at the time).

Should mention too, if you are flying from a Chinese port of origin, the flight probably doesn’t exist anymore (politics) so check with the airline.

Has anyone flown Vietnam airlines?

Thinking about a Hanoi trip and they fly direct.

Pretty sure it does. Just not the 2 fastest.

I’ve done the sums for our trip next month and the pass doesn’t come close to value for money.

Many times. Good airline.

Hanoi is by far the best entry port into Vietnam too so that’s a big bonus

I heading to Tokyo. Any tips?

Any nice day trips out of there?

Even what not to do.

Yeah the JR pass has always been about the Shinkansen, so I’d be surprised If that wasn’t included anymore, given prices rising in recent times. Just Nozomi trains (fastest, 2.5hr Tokyo to Osaka) have always been off limits.

Thankyou for the recommendation Karla!

I’ll probably google for a tour which can take just me as I am travelling solo for most of my time in Japan - this place sounds beautiful.

Huh. Well there you go, memory is playing tricks on me

Admittedly it’s been a while since I’ve been on the shinkansen or used a JR pass.

I was a bit hesitant to reply, seeing as though I’ve never been. :grimacing:

We’re going in April and doing the Kamakura tour with Brad. We’re also doing a day hike in the hills outside of Kyoto. Both are private tours. I’ll let you know how they go.

Is dubai airport running as normal again?

No

Back to around 60% capacity for now.

I would expect to see it drop though in the coming weeks

Mrs Rabbit and I have booked flights on Qatar via Doha heading to Europe leaving May, returning September 2026.

We can cancel these flights, subject to their Fare Rules.
Here are the Qatar Fair rules. I assume, worst case, it will cost us $789 each flight, is that how I should read this?

Still depends on the fare type and any other conditions but as a rule you will be generally up for some penalty if you cancel whereas if they cancel you are better off in some ways

Do you reckon the penalty is $789 each flight or $789 for the entire booking?
They have issued 4 electronic tickets in total

Will be for the entire booking if it applies.

Definitely read the fulll T&C’s though
