Did the agent record your nationality as such on the ticket
Iâm not sure. She asked me if either I or my parents were from UK or Ireland and said they have to check because of the new rules. I canât see how the immigration officers at UK end would know but worried about the possibility.
That sounds like she has stitched you up.
Another good reason to book the flights yourself.

Booking through an agent is far, far better. If for some reason you have to rebook a flight, if youâve booked online then you can only change the flight online, and that can be very difficult. If youâve booked through and agent you contact the agent and the agent will find you an alternative flight. I know through experience.

If you are an infrequent traveller then maybe but I hate not being in control of my ticket and think that most TAâs out there arenât that good at their job either

Not my experience at all. But then youâve had far more experience than me. Also you know the industry inside out, which is not like the normal tourist traveller. I had a flight from Nice to Marrakech. The day before it was scheduled, it was cancelled. My travel agent (local Flight Centre) had that flight cancelled with a full refund, and an alternative flight booked with a different airline on a different route but effectively getting me exactly where I wanted â all within 6 hours. There is no way I could have done that. No doubt you could, but not me.

One of my friends who goes to Greece as often as I do books through a travel agent. She doesnât go on any other flights. Flies with Qatar like most of us do.
What a complete and utter waste of time. If you miss your flight or whatever they fly daily at the exact same time. Nothing you canât look after yourself.
A really good TA can be great especially for difficult itineraries and having better access to different fare buckets for example. Unfortunately they are few and far between these days as most people book themselves and the older TAâS have retired. The big places like Flight centre pay a pittance so anyone that is half decent usually figures out that they can go into business themselves and make 5 times the money.
Iâm not a fan mainly because I like to be in control of my ticket and make changes myself especially when it comes to IRROPS

Question for @Aceman and others who may knowâŚ
Daughter is flying QANTAS MEL-SIN-LHR return and has a couple of lounge invites to use from her Q Money card. One will likely be used in LHR on her return.
She has a 2hr transit in SIN on the way back & is wondering whether this would be worth using up the other invite for a shower & nibbles? Whatâs the process when transiting QF2 to QF36? I assume they ushered into a transit area without going thru immigration / customs. But will she be able to access a Q lounge from there and will she have time to get value?
The other option is MEL on the way which is less appealing.
The âtransit areaâ is actually the WHOLE AIRPORT - at least the terminals connected by the automatic train. PAX are not ushered - they just leave the plane and find themselves among thousands of others wandering around waiting for their next connection.
She could easily access at least the lesser one of the Qantas lounges, both of which tend to get very busy for those night flights back to AUS. Not sure if that card gives her access to other Oneworld lounges.

Of course not! The US is the only âcivilizedâ country I know with that stupid rule. Hence why people should never transit via US if they can avoid it.

No access to other OW lounges. As far as Iâm still aware Qantas Singapore lounge is still not accepting lounge passes.
Even passes issued by Qantas? (I assume from Gnikâspost these were issued from their very own Q card)
Yes, they have capacity issues at several airports so some arenât accepting lounge passes
