My licence is due for renewal later this year so I am hoping Latitude will cover that cost. I’ve seen comments this is what they are preparing for but details of a process still seem scant. Looking at VicRoads online this morning there didn’t seem to be any means to renew before being technically due. Don’t know whether this is possible. Haven’t contacted them in person yet.
Fortunately my mobile number is new-ish and not part of this.
Sorry, been to Tenerife but not Gran Canaria.
Half of the UK was in Tenerife at the time so didn’t really enjoy it. We went with our Uncle who goes down twice a year. Ryanair were doing tickets from Manchester to Tenerife for £1 plus taxes which were about 15 quid for memory. By time we added luggage I think it came to about $80 which isn’t bad on a 4hr plus flight. Some stunning scenery and top notch resorts though
I have a feeling that Charles and Camilla may have eaten enough dinners at the Palace of Versailles and the White House and similar places, not to mention Buckingham and other palaces of their own, for the prospect of missing out on one not to cause them too much heartache.
Mrs Fox and I went there with some Pommy friends over 20 years ago. Nice place, good food, weather in August was hot and perfect, nice place to stay. Lots to see and to do.
But very touristy for me and while I loved the Spanish culture, there were so many Poms, Dutch and Germans, who just made it difficult. Price were ok then but they are much higher now I believe.
Not sure on high season, but probably if we went back it would be when it was not high tourist season.
Do any of our regular air travellers have a recommendation for a good quality, durable wheeled carry-on bag?
Looking to join the carry-on only club for future domestic travel. Not looking for either bargain basement or absolute top of the range. Perhaps prefer a soft bag over one of those hard cover ones.
I’m always torn between the carry on or checked baggage options. Carry on only, but then you have to fight with the people around you who have managed to get 6 bags on board and taken all your carry on space, or checked baggage and cruise onto the plane whenever.
If I’m going for only a day or two it’s always HLO for me.
Helps flying in business but I still had some pleb put their bag above my seat last on Thursday night. I pulled it out and handed it to the CSM who moved ot down the back somewhere
What do you regular travellers do for phone/data when you’re travelling o/s? Buy a local SIM and deal with having a different number, or use Whatsapp? Hand over the roaming fees?
Always use a local sim. Currently in prachuap khiri khan in southern thailand. Have no need for my oz number, all social contact on whatsapp/line and anything else by email.
