Tribunal/MRO from 2023 - Choose Your Own Adventure continues

Nah, he deliberately punched a guy. A fine will help not be stupid moving forward and ending up with a suspension.

Soft punch and Daicos dropped like someone had shot him. Did he play soccer as a kid, had all the hallmarks of that reaction?

He definitely did, it was really soft, but at the end of the day Caldwell still punched him in the guts.

Merrett only got a week for bruised lung and fractured rib, it would be 4 now, that’s how quickly the game is changing.

Those bloody Carlton medical reports always screw us over. It’s happened twice now with them. And Merrett.

I know Daicos milked it for what it’s worth, but I don’t want to see that ■■■■ from our players. We’ve seen Cotchin and Tom Lynch do that crap time and time again and we pile on them for these acts Hope it’s one and done from Jye.

I know when I think of the ANZAC spirit, I always think of deception via over-acting.

I have said time and time again, Daicos is a cat. He absolutely hates physical contact. Quite simply the best way to stop him is to hit him hard every time he touches the ball, legally of course. I would make sure that if I tackled him to the ground, as I fell on top and elbow might just be in an inconvenient spot for the young fella. If I was gonna spoil a marking attempt, again my elbow would make unfortunate contact with the back of his head. He is a talent no doubt, but a very very soft one.

Lifetime_ban is advocating a strategy which if pursued by any EFC players would see the fkg AwFL react to protect the favourite son of their favourite club and give them a lifetime ban.

Matthew Johnson for Freo will get done for this, most likely two weeks.

This is the first sentence ever written in the history of everything that starts and ends with lifetime ban.

LOL

They used to say that about his Dad. Didn’t stop him being Champion who played 250 games averaging over two goals a game and kicked 97 one year.

Don’t underestimate any Daicos. Both boys are champs and will rewrite the Brothers record books.

I don’t underestimate him @Bacchusfox , he is a genuine talent, and can hurt you if you don’t put a lot into shutting him down. But on multiple occassions now I have seen how he reacts to contact, and it isn’t the reaction of someone who relishes the contact. There is nothing inherently wrong with that, but it is certainly something opposition players should be paying attention to. I think if you were to play a very old style physical against him, his game will drop off quickly. You might also get reported.

Thanks! I am glad that someone noticed my craftsmanship with that post!

Nah, like father like son.

Peter Daicos got much rougher treatment back in the day and his reactions were much like his Younger Son. So opponents thought they could beat him with being physical , but it never worked. I reckon it is the soccer player theatrics in them, but it is just showboating, they are as tough as nails.

You never saw T Daniher showboating like a Daicos

No, but he was also a thug, which is something he readily admits now. His Brothers attest to it.

Not particularly relevant- the relevant bit was whether the Daicos clan are as tough as nails.
TD demonstrates that showboating is not tough.

This needs to go viral. It’s the only way to gety traction with the AFL.
