The Geelong player didn’t hit his head on the ground. Only the Essendon players head made contact. So therefore cannot be cited.

This wasn’t the only one. I’ve only watched the first half of the game but there was a tackle on one of our players (Durham maybe?) that turned into a sling tackle after he’d kicked the ball away. Looked like his head hit the ground but the ball had gone and everyone ignored it. No mention of it from the commentators, but that’s hardly surprising.

Would not have survived the game in the 80’s. I know times have changed for the better; but, the AwFuL hasn’t adapted to those changes. Between that incident on Finlayson sniping/niggling off the ball, players are not being held to account.
Nup, he is gone for a minimum of 2 weeks, but could easily be double that.
