Was it Jason or Mark who said “get up ya weak dog”?

Pretty sure that was Razor Ray to Hind after Hind had been decked late by McGovern.

Well, really, does this come as a shock to anyone?

I mean, this is the same club which can climb goal posts without consequence, so, yeah…

On what grounds did he get off?

I mean, he had actually transferred the ball to his other hand in order to execute the elbow and not be pinged fir incorrect disposal.

Low Impact.
Dockers need to borrow FarkCarlton’s medical staff in future.

It went down like this -

Hello, I’m Buddy.
I play for the Sydney franchise but you probably know that because I’m a superstar.
The AFL have done a lot of good work in recent years to protect the head because concussion is a serious problem.
However these rules don’t apply to me as I’ve been doing this sort of stuff for 10 years and the fans love me.
I’m Buddy and it’s not so much that I play for the AFL but rather the AFL plays for me.

I’d rather play Sydney with Buddy than without anyway.

Check out their ■■■■■■■ injury list though! No wonder they’re flying.

They tried citing precedents, which the AFL rep dismantled. Then they pointed out that the Freo player should have expected the elbow to the head, because he was tackling Franklin. The fact that the Freo player should have been expecting to be elbowed in the head apparently changes the impact from medium to low.

Just because he is Buddy and lots of people want him to make it a 1000 goals before he retires - so people make allowances. I think he should get two weeks, will he? Probably not!

So Franklin got off. Not really a surprise. The real surprise is that the MRO actually had the guts to suspend him. The odds of the Tribunal upholding the suspension of this over-hyped player were always long.

Optics are very important to the AFL. They must be seen to be doing the right thing, often rather than actually doing the right thing. There is a big difference.

Did we expect anything different after this earlier in the year.

The AFL has cleared Essendon’s Brandon Zerk-Thatcher of any wrongdoing in the off-the-ball incident which cost Sydney Swans’ star Isaac Heeney a broken hand.

The league has reviewed the incident from multiple angles and found Zerk-Thatcher has nothing to answer as Heeney’s injury was self-inflicted.

Franklin has played with immunity since he joined the Swans and he will continue to do so with the blessing of the AFL. One set of rules for Buddy and another set for the others. Let’s hope that the karma bus is running on schedule next weekend.

i still find it almost impossible to believe that’s real. But it is.

What followed was somehow more bizarre. It was along the lines of “Sydney has decided it will not pursue the matter further.” It was written as though we should be grateful that Sydney was doing us a favour in not going after Zerk for having his skull in the way of Heeney’s fist.
