Fog said we haven't tried since he picked the Hawks, I reckon that has to be wrong, We'd still be trying right now. Probably doesn't work out for us but we would be having a crack.
I’d be disappointed if we weren’t.
It’s all optics IMO. Throw out some burley, make it look like we have been trying to do a deal knowing it will more than likely be rejected as GC continue to negotiate with Hawthorn, also play interference as GC can say “Well Essendon offered us this, so we want that…”, then hopefully it falls through at the deadline and he walks to us via PSD and we don’t look like absolute ■■■■■. If Jackets can pull this off he deserves a bronze statue outside the front of the TVSC!
I’d hope we are still in communication with both JOM and GC… doesn’t cost us anything to keep the pressure up. Even if it means that Hawks pay a fair price…
JOM is probably a less than 1% chance of coming to EFC… but it appears we have little else to do this trade period… so might as well keep chasing the dream.
Not a big fan of McKenzie but if he helps grease the wheels to get 2 top 10 picks for #1… then sure.
Trade news on Twitter has said that Gold coast's Trent McKenzie has had a tour at Essendon.
this is weird I was going to float this guys name early in the draft period as he hasn’t played much footy this year.and signed for another 2 years at the beginning of the year rate him upgrade for the pig .

We still remember that goal he kicked against us from the wing.
Get him.
Could be a bad omen, Mark Alvey’s best game was for the Bulldogs against us, Sheedy recruited him and he became another of our fruitless recruits of the 2000’s

I reckon Xavier Richards for Shaun Edwards and a late pick would be a good deal for both Sydney and Essendon
Yep. Pick 77 and we are making out like bandits.
Richards would struggle to find a spot in Essendon’s 22. Simply, he’s not a very good player.
Yes he played in the GF but in a team with a gun midfield and limited talls. We are the opposite.
Just don’t bother.

Can they not just welcome in Shaunye as a delisted free agent?
Yep, but they have to wait for the delisted free agent deadline before they can sign him (end of October IIRC). If we trade him this week he can move up there and they can start getting him settled, get him his new gear, tell him when he’s allowed to talk to or look at Buddy and all the usual stuff.
Same as we did with Chappy. We traded a nothing pick to Geelong simply so he could start at the club earlier. It’s also a goodwill thing to get the player to where he wants to go for no real cost.
