Umps don’t matter, apparently - Port review 2023 round 16

I wasn’t suggesting he was good, he should not be playing, I merely mentioned he did some nice things late. Just a shame he didn’t do it earlier, which is pretty much what I said. Thanks.

Umpires were atrocious and they been even half decent wed have won that game.

Should have had a dozen holding the balls paid that werent.

Should have had a dozen free kicks in our forward 50 for infringements on our talls.

Thay said. We werent blameless.

Missed goals we should have kicked.
Werent as clean and one grab as port were.
Taking off menzie was a poor decision. He was very good tonight and conditions suited him. Id have taken perkins off. Didnt do nearly enough defensively. But thats nothing new.
Shiel an atrocious player. The definition of looks like tarzan plays like jane. Woeful display.

What’s Menzie carrying to be subbed?

Same for stringer the amount of times he got blatantly pushed in the back with two hands and nothing

You need the right cattle more than anything else and we don’t have it.

I’ll have to live to 100 to see us win another flag.
We aren’t winning a final let alone winning a flag anytime soon

Our key defenders weren’t the issue today.

The other end of the ground, however…

LOL - 9 points is not exactly an insurmountable lead.

Yeah we should have been down 4-5 in first. But we evened and then overtook on the shitness in front of goal ledger

If we feel short from being behind ok but not when you in farking front

So the 2 games v these ■■■■■■ have been decided by a kick after the siren. Compare that to the utter disgrace at Marvel at the end of last year I’d say that’s a pretty decent indicator of the progress.

Very pleased with Phillips, Hobbs, Duz, Caldwell and Langford. I know Scott has been talking up Merretts will to win but this game was absolutely next level from the skipper. What a game by him.

Laverde, Rids and BZT got to grips with Dixon and Marshall

After looking like a 60plus loss in the first, I think this was an admirable effort and one we can use as a benchmark going forward as to how we can adapt in game.

Having said that… absolutely criminal misses by Weidemann and Parish in the last. Menzie off puzzling. Not saying is should have been weid as he was playing 2nd ■■■■ to give flip a chop out.

This is ports shot at a flag while Dixon can move and one of Collingwood or Melbourne will destroy them at the G. We are coming. I’m convinced we are (mind you, I have been before!)

It’s time for Patrick Voss

The poor baastard’s got no support at all. Every time he went near it there were three guys scragging him and we kept dropping it on his head.

This continued picking of Weideman has to stop. He’s offering nothing and it’s reallly hurting 2MP’s game. Voss couldn’t possibly offer less. I doubt a cardboard cutout would offer less.

An ex AFL employee - I don’t think so.

And we were 17 down with not long to go.
They haven’t won 11 in a row by being ■■■■.

He only had 8 possessions in 3 Quarters. Actually Weideman or Wright should have been subbed out as we needed more run in the rain.

It isn’t far off level scores and means very little in the modern game.

He’s supposed to be elite. Not anywhere near it when it matters. A flat track one way runner who more often than not ■■■■■ the kick

Dog of a night for big forwards all around.

Dixon 7 marks 1 goal 1
Finlayson 3 marks 1.1
Marshall 4 marks 0.1
Wright 1 mark 0
Weid 5 marks 0.1

Still the biggest hole in our 22.

I think he played off the mark inside of the line to get momentum through his kick but I don’t think he went around an arc.
