Going to be interesting… he could dominate 2022 and 2024 elections.
He could also take the GOP into an unelectable no man’s land. Too extreme for the general populace, excessively partisan candidates hand picked to be the most Trumpy.

Look, you clearly know the system. You clearly know the issues.
What is the point in complaining that the Dems aren’t passing a set of progressive legislation when its 95% impossible for them to do so? Why these huge rants which are aimed at things you know can’t be controlled centrally, as if the Dems are a monolith?
I really don’t understand what the point of your arguments are? Especially when so many of your arguments have literally been exposed as incorrect because the Dems did just pass a massive bill that the Republicans wouldn’t, that required every single vote they could get.
This seems more likely to me.
Trumpists are loud, but realistically absolute max 30% of the gen pop.
I think his Donness is overestimating the Trump or die vote.
Or maybe he just doesn’t care?
No skin off the Democrats nose.
They should go hard, hard, HARD for Texas.
You would have thought that was the case in last year’s election, but they still managed to get pretty close. We have to accept that much of heartland America is extreme, inclusive and plays well to Trumps nationalistic ambitions.
They really didn’t get close.
Lost the senate, the house, the popular vote and Dems came within 500’000 votes of Texas, which if the GOP lose (and they’re trending that way) then that writes them off as a major political party. Continuing down the path of Trumpism may invigorate the true believers but alienates anyone remotely moderate let alone those left of centre which makes up for the majority of americans. I don’t know how they can legally win an election without lurching back to the centre to swing the moderates.
Not close to the presidency, but alarmingly close to holding the Senate and actually picked up seats in the house.
And with the GOP making it harder for everyone to vote in their states, they’re going to be hard to dislodge.
I mean…what do you want for a rubber biscuit?
Last time is done and dusted.
The Democrats won convincingly.
We’re now talking about Trump running again. He’ll split the Republican vote, the Democrats will say thank you very much, have to come close to taking Texas and if that happens it’s game ■■■■■■■ over for the GOP.
As long as the Democrats can maintain the rage and get out and vote.
Fingers crossed.
So you’re saying all it takes is for the Republicans to be douchebags.
Yeah. Rank outsider that one.
They’re going to tear themselves apart.
I’m calling this one four years early.
The Republicans have to first beat Trump and then beat the Democrats.
Will not happen.
If they had an evangelical humanist that was strong enough to destroy Trump then they’d have a chance. A REAL good chance. But they don’t.
They will destroy themselves because Trump won’t stand down and no other Republican will stand up.
I really hope you’re right.
I have less faith in the American electorate.
I’m with Stealth on this.
Trump really only got one policy through(tax cuts) but his supporters all saw he fought for them and had heaps of achievements(yes some of that is PR).
The Dems often seem to want these big policy victories where everything is wrapped up nicely in one big enactment. Of course they can never get those types of bills passed, so admit defeat almost immediately.
Dems and Biden need to show they are fighting for minimum wage anyway. Don’t just say it’s too hard because they don’t have the votes. Politics is a game of inches sometimes, lean on states, lean on companies, keep the pressure up and keep chalking up wins headed in the general direction of a better minimum wage for everyone.
Stealth is right, if they don’t fight for their voters, they will not win the next election.
He’ll take his 50% off the top before he even considers giving any of the donated money to any other Republicans.
Ah Bernie. The hero of the left and working class man in the US of A.
Nice flip once the democrats take power there beeeern.
I don’t think they try hard enough.
But they dropped key parts of it, like the wage increase.
Look, it’s simple - I’m tired of incremental change, and I don’t really subscribe to the idea anymore that anything more ambitious is impossible.
You also need to understand that this is a place where I blow off steam.
My friends in Texas think that the GOP is stuffed. They claim that Trump with split from the mainstream party as his demands will get too much for real Republicans. If there is a split then given the voting system the only winner is Democrat.
US politics is so heavily controlled by $$$. If Trump holds the purse strings, he shapes the primaries. He banked a few 100 million with his stop the steal fundraising, which a negligible amount got spent.
Being blocked on social media, will his craziness get forgotten and forgiven? What vibe will swing voters feel for Trumpism? How enthusiastic will conservatives be with a Trumpy party?
Not sure at all that Trump holds any real purse strings. Big donors are people who have no ideology except self-interest.
