I’ve read the January 6 Committee full report.
As someone who has worked on election security, mis/dis information it was almost the play book to override the will of the people for an election. Some public servants and elected officials withstood some tremendous pressure to stay committed to their osth to the Constitution.
So others, well, need prison time, otherwise this is a practice run, and a couple of more amenable people in DOJ and others could tip them over the edge.

Roger Stone is imo the genesis of the insurrection and one of Trumps political masterminds.
The roots go back to Bush v Gore over 20 years ago. I might be wrong; Heffsgirl, was he mentioned in the report?

He was mentioned numerous times. There were a number of layers within what we call “the Big Lie,” Stone participated and/or knew and supported them all.

The thing is, you might research or develop an idea and pitch it, but what is your culpability if it is carried out by others at the behest of another person?
However on Jan 6, Stone was holed up at a hotel, in his own “situation room” and appeared to be coordinating the oath keepers and proud boys.
If that is the case, given that members of those groups have been found guilty of insurrection, Stone would be in the DOJ crosshairs for the same charge.
