US politics - cooked

I found it absolutely laughable that he thought he could take on a multi billion dollar corporation the likes of which are feeding $ every day to Republican politics and win. Go Disney.

Hubris may ultimately be the one thing that brings these people down. And I am all for it.

How profitable is Mar a Lago since its stream of revenue from US government officials occupancy has declined?

Is this something to be concerned about?

Yes.

Welp

Seems at odds with this

Far too early to matter. It’s still 18 months before the election.

Doing some quick scouting online and it seems the consensus is that polls this early are more or less a crapshoot, which is somewhat relieving.

However, Biden still has an approval rating in the low 40s, which is historically an uphill battle for an incumbent seeking reelection. The wildcard is Trump’s base vs his unpopularity amongst the remaining voters, combined with his numerous legal scandals.

We still have 18 months to go, but I feel the upcoming election is far from in the bag.

Yep. Way way way too early to worry about polls. There’s oodles of stupid crap to play out before the final contenders are even known.

Trump will get done for Georgia election interference. He’ll spoil De Santis because he’s a vindictive twat and Biden, at 80 something is the only electable candidate in a population in 330 million. ā– ā– ā– ā– ā– ā– ā– ā– ā– ā– ā–  of a country.

The constant convicted ā€œsexual predatorā€ prefix every time his name is mentioned will bleed away some more votes.

It should have done that in 2016, yet even in 2020 he managed the second highest number of votes of all time.

Trump hasn’t even been charged with anything yet, and there’s only 18 months to the election. There is less than zero chance that any case involving him is finalised before the vote, especially given he’ll inevitably have his lawyers delay and obstruct any trial as long as possible, and any verdict will be appealed as high as it can go.

Georgia grand jury will unseal indictments in August. It doesn’t need to be finalised, he won’t get the funding for a doomed presidential bid. He will split the vote if de Santis runs.

I don’t think there’s any guarantee whatsoever that being charged with anything will be an electoral or fundraising negative for Trump. His personal cult is as devoted as ever, and if he leads in the primaries then the big R donors and media outlets will jump ship from deSantis just like they did last time with Jeb Bush and so on. They’ll be reluctant, but they’ll do it.

The only way that any of the pending charges against Trump will possibly hinder his 2024 run is if he actually convicted of a felony before then and is ineligible to run.

Just like all the evidence of his association with Epstein, the evidence of sexual misconduct is FAKE news. But it’s a fact that the election was stolen.

  • according to the true believers of the cult of Trump

I don’t think Fox news will go all in this time round. He has his cult followers but I don’t see him getting the independents/RINOs he needs if the reporting of the Georgia grand jury is correct most of the evidence comes from Republicans/Trump supporters.

Well they couldn’t because he hadn’t been convicted of such a crime. Now anybody can say it with impunity.

Did anyone catch the US WNBA star the US govt got out of Russia on a prisoner swap?
