Like that evangelical douchebag who laughed maniacally when it was suggested that Biden won the election, he had videos telling suckers they had to keep up their tithing even though they were out of work due to Covid.
I think it’s time to stop registering churches for tax deductibility unless they can prove they existed before a specified date.

I read an article about 10 years ago where leading members of the Tea Party were openly advocating for increases in the minimum wage and greater organised government support for those in real need (ie govt funded and run homeless shelters and food banks). Their reasons were quite rational. Although it was against their core values they genuinely thought that America was creating the conditions for a revolution against the rich in about the years 2030 to 2040. By giving small wage increases and paying for some welfare it was seen almost like an insurance policy. Give up a little now so their wealth could be safely and securely passed onto their children, grand children and great children.
Perhaps they were correct all along. Massive wealth concentration has ended badly over the centuries.

The main reason for the new deal and social welfare in the US was to diminish the risk of a communist worker uprising.
As soon as communism was no longer a global threat, suddenly the treatment of workers got steadily worse.

The other thing is that it makes attacks on Trump’s family dealings seen hypocritical.
2024 will likely be a Trump vs Harris election. Dems will need to remind the voters of Trump family fraud. Makes it difficult if they can just respond with “yeah, but what about Hunter Biden?”
