The Dems are going to love whacking all the Republicans up for the vote with this.
They don’t even have to mention Trump’s name.
They’ll just run ads aimed at every Republican congressional candidate in a swing seat with a line like “[insert name] says they’re tough on crime. So, why are they supporting a convicted felon?”.
Will take away the ‘tough on crime’ angle the Republicans love to run with.
I’ve seen republicans already going with the ‘democrat courts are wasting their time on trump-hater witch hunts while REAL CRIMINALS terrorise our streets!’ angle.
So a convinced felon can still run for president.
They call it the land of opportunity for a reason

Even if you veto Green as not being fair (which I’ll admit is a reasonable position).
