The bookies ā€¦ā€¦.

Trump has gone from $1.73 pre guilty verdict to $1.80 post guilty verdict

Biden has gone from $2.50 pre verdict to $2.30 post verdict

So the guilty verdict has had very little impact on the election odds

This is something that will likely play out with disengaged voters who go on low information gut feel. Itā€™s now a race between the old guy vs the convicted felon. Thatā€™s got potential to swing some voters, but is unlikely to be seen in the hype of people following the race closely as they already tend to have their mind made up.

Is it correct that the conviction got upgraded to a felony crime because he covered up what would otherwise have been a misdemeanour ?

Iā€™m not sure why his supporters would bother to vote for him. Donā€™t they all think the election is rigged?

While Iā€™ve seen speculation that it could significantly affect the polls, I find it difficult to picture how this affects anyone who has already decided. The polarisation of American politics is too deep. Trumpā€™s issues were already much publicised that Iā€™m not sure how much political hay can be made during this window of sunshine.

However it is somewhat tickling that the same people who wanted Trump to unilaterally execute Hillary Clinton at a black site believe that Trumpā€™s verdict delivered by a jury is a partisan and politically driven process.

Iā€™m curious at the extent of the National Enquirer influence in Trumpā€™s election, as claimed by its Editor.
According to reports, its circulation has been in rapid decline, going from 516k in 2014 to 265k in 2018.

Very stupid question, but why wouldnā€™t trump just pay stormy a few hundred k out of his own pocket to shut her up?

He doesnā€™t like spending his own money.

Itā€™s just bizarre. Such an own goal

I think he would have got more votes for confessing to it

Not really. Heā€™s done ā– ā– ā– ā–  like this his entire adult life and gotten clean away with it because laws donā€™t happen to rich people. As far as he knows, thatā€™s just how reality works.
