The ABC moderators gave tough questions to both sides. One debater came prepared and was able to answer, and deflect when needed, smoothly. The other couldn’t, and got sucked in to things he needed to swerve.
Trump got to speak more. Trump got to interrupt and talk over them more.
He got fact checked only on stuff that could not be left hanging as it is dangerous to let it go unchallenged (abortions after birth, immigrants eating pets).
The moderators did their jobs just fine, and Republicans are massive sooks.

JD Vance says that Trump’s “peace plan” for Ukraine is to let Russia keep all the Ukrainian territory they currently occupy (nearly 20% of Ukraine) and give Russia a guarantee that Ukraine will never join NATO and any other “allies institution” [EU?]

ATM, it’s 50/50 NATO/ non NATO in Black Sea coastal States. Ukraine joining NATO would tip the balance, Trump wouldn’t like that.
This is literally Putin’s plan that he came up with
Ukraine joining the EU is inevitable anyway, and Blinken has openly said them joining NATO is just a matter of time

I keep coming back to the debate admission where Trump says that he met with Putin after losing the Presidency in 2020. And the Russian interference in 2016 and again in this one. And he’ll happily sacrifice Ukraine to Russia.
