I’m sure it’s very possible but however much design went into it last time, Jan 6 was still a haphazard affair by and for morons. Doesn’t make it less dangerous but there’s just as much chance the more organised elements will shy from it this time around (jail ain’t fun), whatever mob they can then manage will be headless because the Trump family are pure arse, never at the front, and it all fizzes back into the resentful morass, or various swamps if you like, from whence it came. You can embolden disparate resentful idiots only so many times, another loss might just as simply shut them up.
Trump on the other hand could pull a serious bunny out facing the charges he is, and head off the plantation. Maybe to the embrace of Papa Putin or Uncy Orban.
Somehow I don’t think that’ll happen.
He’ll try and game the election result if he loses.
And failing that, hole up in his place down in Florida. using the MAGA funding he nowadays garners to tie the courts up as long as he can to avoid any time. He’s a grifter at the end of the day.
I love that Trump’s supporters keep repeating Russian disinformation as facts even after they’ve been categorically shown to be part of a disinformation campaign.
The Republican candidate for North Carolina governor seems to be a special one. Proclaiming himself a nazi and saying that slavery should be brought back seems to have been the least of it.
Some CNN journo spent many many hours combing through the comments on a ■■■■ forum for this story. Pulitzer material?
Poland is terrified of war, they’ve been through so many and are still recovering from the last one. They want to be a peaceful nation, but because they are sandwiched between Russia and the West, they get pressured by both sides. There is serious frustration towards America (both parties) for pushing Poland around and far more towards Russia. Many are seriously worried that the US will push them into a conflict they don’t want. The US is making a huge amount of money off this war and the Poles feel used. This has nothing to do with domestic US politics. This individual MP is also not representative of the full Polish political spectrum.
My addition:
Poland is spending 4.7% of GDP on defence, with about 0.5% of GDP going to the US in arms sales. That’s a huge transfer of wealth. It is completely understandable that Poland is angry at becoming the frontline against a hostile Russia on one side and a bullying and tone deaf US on the other.
