US politics - is weird (part 6)

You have been provided links. One even details the appointment process.

And save us the circling back again because you have been provided the information. You either don’t understand it or don’t want to.

If you remain unconvinced or it’s something so important to to, then email US CBP and ask them what the appointment process is.

I think all 3 of them look like they have bullet proof vests on.

Trump looks quite short there…

Do you think Musk wants to be the next Murdoch, been know to be a king maker?

I haven’t looked into it, but assume it’s purely transactional. Trump has offered a tax break or regulatory change that benefits Musk. No way does he actually believe most of the stuff he’s been talking about.

He’s clearly lost his ■■■■ over the last 18 months.

Simply put, no. It is a scheduling app that attempts to reduce the large amounts of random walkups at the southern border crossings by allocating an appointment time and - presumably - reduces those held in detention accommodation awaiting a hearing . At that appointment you apply for whatever entry condition you are trying to get in on - asylum , immigrant visa, non immigrant visa , whatever - and you’re then processed through the relevant processes and requirements - passports / proof of fear of torture / persecution / court hearings , etc. There’s no difference between walking/ getting to / across the border and claiming assylum vs getting a CBP appointment and claiming assylum beyond the fact that they know you’re coming in advance. It’s merely trying to impart some sense of planned order on inherent chaos. In both situations, what happens after presenting to the border points and getting a hearing are the same. You prove your access worthiness with whatever is demanded for your entry application. Future ( rumoured , fear mongered, invented, proposed) changes to assylum and visa regulations are nothing to do with the app.

Also worth noting that Amnesty International believe that the CPB app makes things unfairly difficult for assylum seekers.

A lot of back scratching. Musk will drop him like a hot spud should he lose.

Trump will drop him too as soon as he wins.

Trump has offered Elon to head up some kind of ‘efficiency commission’

“I will create a government efficiency commission tasked with conducting a complete financial and performance audit of the entire federal government, and making recommendations for drastic reforms,” Trump told the crowd.

That would be interesting, as I’d imagine Musk would be expecting favours with Trump at the wheel?

If RFKJr becomes Health Secretary then he will probably gut the HHS. If Musk becomes some super Auditor general then he will probably cut the FAA, abolish the NHTSA and severly compromise NASA’s budget to the point of outsourcing all future space requirements to the private sector - which will be you guess who…

hes definitely past the point of return. his ‘trolling’ has become his reality.

This would be so funny.

Were this to happen, the twitter melties from both Musk and his fans would be all-time. It’d be the most entertaining thing that political theatre has seen for decades
