US politics - is weird (part 6)

His team claimed they had permission to film. Whether or not that’s true, he broke the rule against campaigning at Arlington. Arlington is maintained by the Army.

Genuine question BigAl…did you read the article posted article?

It clearly states that the “permission” came from the parents who had invited him along.

It also said that they do not have the authority to give such permission…it can only come from Arlington Officials.

AND

It can never be used for political purposes.

I read a number of articles.
It’s not incorrect for the team to state that they were given permission to film ( even if the family did not have the authority to permit filming).
You may not have read my posts about not campaigning,

Wow…nice political spin.

So you seem to be implying that because they thought it was ok to film, that they could film?

Even though the Arlington Official told then that they couldn’t…and…that after being told that they couldn’t film, they manhandled the official…all seemingly without bothering to check if the official was right.

Such a respectful man and team.

Sorry, the facts say otherwise.

Policy might matter again if the GOP can detach itself from Trump.

Harris is following the same strategy as Albanese and Keir Starmer. Stay low key, don’t put out a huge amount of policy detail that can be turned around as a counterattack. Let the unpopular opponent dig themselves a hole. Low key, positive and pleasantly bland. It is a winning formula against an opponent who is their own worst enemy.

She hasn’t been completely absent with policy details, giving a fairly strong conservative stance on foreign policy, law & order and whatnot. But this isn’t an election that will be won with ideas, it’s an election that will be won by personality and that’s what’s playing out.

Also, interesting that it’s framed as Kamala vs Trump, not Kamala vs Donald or Harris vs Trump. Not sure who’s pushing that subtlety.

I’m not sure we’ll ever have another “normal” election, at least not until Trump dies. But I’m still expecting his farkwit children to take over.

What’s worse than the pushing past a person employed to protect the sanctity of the place, to take a picture for your own personal and political gain?…the actual picture.

Big smiles and orchestrated “thumbs up” would seem to be strangely at odds with the solemnity of a war cemetery?

This is clearly a 100 percent propaganda event, not just a “camera happened to be there” as they’ve apparently tried to claim.

And where was this wonderful human being, showing all the concern and sympathy in the world for the fallen soldier and their family, on any of the other anniversaries of this tragic event?

Oh that’s right, it’s wasn’t election campaign time.

Doubt he will be back there any time soon either.
