Why would we do that when we have just received our first HIMARS from the US and have more US made tanks and fighter jets on the way plus more and more US soldiers arriving to live on Australian bases every week.

Oh I agree just stating that we have had all our eggs in basket for decades and now we are in deep poo.
We have some pretty cool assets that are state of the art so we are blessed in that regard so to replace what we have would take 20+ years and require us to triple or quadruple our military budget to make it happen.
