Autism is actually just a word, what constitutes the condition is subject to change.

Take DSM-5. It originated in 1954, based on the ICD series. Not only have mental disorders been renamed in certain cases, but the boundaries between behaviours of the various mental disorders named have changed.

In a spectrum disorder, it may come to pass that names of the various levels will be changed.

ADHD is another spectrum disorder whjch is diagnosed a lot more since a formal name was given to the disorder. In the past those with ADHD were simply called “naughty boys”. Now you can be diagnosed at the age of 50+

Not necessarily. A lady I picked up, my volunteer driving job don’t get the wrong idea, living now in Tassie was a bit sad that her only son had given her 2 grandkids and are living in Sydney. She said she would have loved more children of her own. And also said she’s so happy being down here.
