The problem with too many people is that they think the second sentence (which is true) means the first sentence is also true.
Trump pitches every possible policy imaginable and blithely ignores the contradictions between what he’s saying today and what he said yesterday, because the only thing that matters to him is right now. Yes, he’s pitched peace. He’s also pitched military force.
Worth remembering how Trump ALSO wanted to invade Iran in his first term, and it’s fairly well documented how Miller and the other military/defence people, who at that stage had not yet been purged for insufficient bootlicking, would only just managed to talk him down. How anyone calls him anti war after that, I just don’t know. Not to mention how enormously he expanded the drone war in his first term.
Trump has been the central figure of US politics for a decade now. He has a very long public record. Everyone knows what he is, and how much he can’t be trusted. At this point, if you believe what he says, there’s no excuse.
