US politics - the new orange wave (Part 7)

Imma gonna get this thread shut down…I don’t want to…

For most people who really don’t want to care about this, any more than they care about what’s happening in some border dispute in Africa because why should we?

It’s that…this literally happened to you.
You know what displacement means.

And the response is just…yeah, but it’s Not us this time, so…

Why not enlighten me…

Is DOGE an advisory board or not?

Is it an official government department or not?

Is Elon Musk a federal official/employee or a volunteer?

Does Trump have final say over whether to implement DOGE recommendations?

Why don’t you enlighten yourself before posting with certainty on the subject then asking genuine questions? It’s only fair.

DOGE is an advisory body. Not a government department. Musk is not a cabinet member.

Here you go - explains it

Here, this is a broad enough look at what appears to be happening. Or you’re free to use Google and I’m sure a nice white boy or girl will be able to help you on the line. :slightly_smiling_face:

Maybe I already know the answers to the questions I’ve just asked.

If you’re going to argue with me, atleast do so with actual facts.

Funny what you find out when you do a quick google.
Musk sacked 80% of Twitter staff and 10% of Tesla staff.

Also…

Man, the I told you so is not going to be very edifying.

You only like facts that support your puerile arguments…you ignore other facts that don’t suit your limited world views.

It’s the Republicans sending us all to hell in a handbasket while fanbois insist it’s Better for me…

Wow, you’ve tried hard but not really tried at all. The fact that it’s not an ‘official government department’ yet it has thus far enacted extraordinary measures within government is not positive thing.

I doubt you’ll read the opinion piece I posted but here’s a snack sized…

"Mr. Musk’s recent stand against U.S.A.I.D., the federal agency responsible for administering foreign and development assistance since 1961, could have come directly from the state capture playbook — only often more brazen in intent. “U.S.A.I.D. is a criminal organization,” Mr. Musk posted over the weekend. “Time for it to die.” In that time, the agency’s website went offline, and its top two security officials were placed on administrative leave after refusing to allow members of Mr. Musk’s team access to secure U.S.A.I.D. systems. Finally, on Monday, Mr. Musk said that he had consulted Mr. Trump and that “we’re shutting it down.”

Cool. So what I said originally is accurate, good to know.

If DOGE recommendations are being passed it’s because Trump is passing them. You know, the guy that won the election and promised to do exactly what he’s doing.

And I hope he keeps going :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

More winning.

He has licence to unconstitutionally remove federal employees and he has. To access top level data, and transfer it off site and he has. To set up shop in the farking White House and he has. You know what, fark it, you came with your lunch pail, there’s no arguing with glazed ham.

Did you read the bit about taking actions, severe actions, prior to consulting with Trump? And you are aware that Trump is not Congress, not the US government?

And there you are. Happy trolling Goonit.

Yep.
Because all conservatives care about is owning the Libs.

We are, objectively, in worse times than we were a month ago.
There is more world stress.
More fear.
Apparently now we have to worry about whether planes can fly and the market is in any way safe.
I don’t just mean whether there might be a downturn, we now have to consider whether it might crash with no bottom.

The US has attacked Denmark and Canada, both allies.
The Ukraine war which was going to be resolved in a day…has not.
Freedom of expression is very Farking dicey right now.

But the good thing is, we’ve seen this before. And…hopefully, this careening mine cart will only be for two years.

The idea that this country wants this lite, instead of stable government is truly mind-boggling.

Hamas was banking the other Arab nations all getting involved. This was a flawed strategy, some did get involved a bit later but most like Egypt and the Saudis wanted nothing to do with it. Israels stratgy was to deal with one at a time. People have to remember that Muslim countries of differant streams of Islam hate each other as much as they hate Israel

Hamas farked Gaza. They started a war and they lost it.

of course they did and of course they lost they were never going to win . questions now and in the future will examine if the response was proportional or was there an agenda to get rid of all of them for good .
with what trump is saying now it’s not just a batsshit crazy theory anymore

I have several issues with this statement.
Based around ‘started’ and who they were actually fighting against.

But none of that’s really important.
Displacement is genocide and it’s weird that Israel doesn’t get that.
Really weird.
I understand the US not getting it, because they’re morons who moan about their territory being invaded, in Hawaii, eighty years ago.

Edit: I mean…not even invaded…
