A lot of them did move to paper, mind you.
But yeah, not too convinced the plastic bag ban was as successful as hoped. A whole lot of people just moved to plastic half a micron heavier than the definition of ‘disposable’ and even the supermarkets etc who legit did get rid of disposable plastic bags upped their plastic waste elsewhere, from individually plastic-wrapped fruit to flogging ninety million Ooshies.

A 28% increase in investment or US $220bn increase in the US is a win for the US. The Japanese PM seemed pleased after the Trump meeting. Reading into it I’d say Japan wanted to avoid a trade war.
