US politics - the new orange wave (Part 7)

I have a German friend who worked there for a few years. He said it was as government-controlled as East Germany had been. But the plus side is they mostly use that power to improve people’s standard of living.

This is from a discussion a couple of weeks ago.
I never said it was right but I did say it was happening. Some people in here couldn’t decipher the difference and got very agro.

But it is happening.

It will happen for some, not for others.

An increase from 36% last year to 39% this year demanding 5 days in the office isn’t exactly a stampede. An increase of .2 of a day isn’t much either.

Is also a bit of classic news.com, they love an article about 5 days in the office. They pump them out, must get mad clicks. Recruitment firms love it too, they did the survey (notice the message of employees asking for more money to return to the office? Jeez I wonder why a recruiter would be mentioning that)

Doesn’t seem to me that the needle is shifting that quickly.

In a strange way Trump doing his worst might not be totally a bad thing in the long run. It might expose the weaknesses of their political system which could enable real change to safeguard against future dictatorships/idiots. Don’t get me wrong the current state of affairs scares the hell out of me.

Trump hasn’t let up on the Chyna bashing, national security with a strong economic bent. His latest order on foreign investment makes it difficult for Chinese investment, with a disregard for WTO rules on trade related investment measures and a view that Chyna got a free ride in acceding to the WTO ( which is not correct). He wants US investors in China to base their manufacturing plants in USA, as well as placing hurdles on cooperation between US and others with Chinese companies under which Australian component manufacturers and joint ventures with Chinese companies could be captured).
This at the time of foreshadowing commercial deals with Russia.

As to China abstaining in the UNGA vote on Russia, the Chinese media referred to a Xi/ Putin call shortly after , reaffirming their strong economic and political bilateral relationship.

On the UNGA vote, it was considered that a vote of 93 UN members out of a total of 193 UN members in favour of the resolution could signify that there has been a drop off in support for Ukraine in the face of Russian aggression. On the other hand, the more anodyne UNSC resolution was reportedly carried 10 to zero.
