The jobs created are not going to suit the skills of the people whose jobs are threatened, nor are they created in the cities they live. But you think those people should think “You bewdy - Apple is going to invest somewhere, so I am going to go out and buy some consumer goods to celebrate someone else’s job”?

I agree with this to some degree, and this is the way 99% of chinese citizens survive and live ok.
But the many Uighurs in concentration camp like conditions and persecuted Tibetans (for acknowledging their spiritual leader) had no direct involvement in protesting against those hot topics but they get punished along with the small minority of dissidents. We should put that caveat on the means most people survive CCP control.

Under Trump’s Gold Card of buying a Green Card ( with a pathway to citizenship) for $5 million dollars, Apple could buy a Green Card for skilled foreign workers.
Trump said it would bring in the very best people, far better than the EB-5 visa and freebies with the Green Card lottery.
The Gold Card is being presented as cutting the deficit. One dollar at a time….

Medicaid, SNAP, school lunches and housing assistance will all be cut.
Only one person from GOP voted against it.
So, if an American came to him and said ‘you are ■■■■■■■ over my country and my fellow countrymen’ that would be ok? Cause I think there’d be plenty of people down for that conversation.
But this is what I hate about ‘social media’. Pontificate. Spread lies. ALL CAPS ALL THE TIME. And there’s no opportunity for them to be challenged.
