US Politics Thread - Post Mueller Edition

Getting fired for murder is a bit like getting kicked out of the MCG for…murder.

Doesn’t mean there won’t be charges pending an investigation, … but it is definitely normally not what happens in these cases,. Normally the worst is “Stood down on full pay pending Investigation”, … and then they are (usually) exonerated.

This is pretty big as an action in the history of these atrocities.

Yep. Always a good chance of ‘underlying condition exacerbated by…’. Which is the one currently getting used to discount 50 odd thousand extra Covid deaths over there, as it happens.

Twitter just need to delete Trump…would be hilarious.

dont like science? The point is your statement is unscientific, you plucked 10,000 deaths which was totally unscientific when a scientific approach was presented it didnt suit your argument so you revet to saying no one knows. This is also unscientiific as there is data there know and we dont need to wait to look at it. Pretending that there was an alternative to locking down is about as unscientific as it gets.Brazil comes to mind at the minute but heaps of examples as to what was required and what would happen if we didnt do it Using 10,000 you definitely implied we may have been better off not locking down and said sweden would probably be economically better off for not locking down as hard. You were presenting an option that did/does not exist and we do need to learn from this, but we already know we needed to lock down earlier and not locking down was NOT and option

I don’t believe in anything anymore. No karma, no justice.

My home country has pretty much turned me into a nihilist.

Really?
I reach for the Kalamata olives.

There is no Karma.
There is only personal satisfaction from knowing you have done the right thing.

As hard as it is EVERYONE should watch that video. It is disgusting and that is nothing short of murder.

After pleading for minutes that he cannot breath, he stops talking and then stops moving and breathing. Then that sick f$$k of a cop keeps his knee on his neck for another three minutes. You can also tell that cop is enjoying it. Not one officer checks the man during this time, and says hang on maybe this is too much. They are complicit.

If that is how police are trained there is something horribly wrong.

But hey this is America, and black lives sadly don’t matter.

Finally the mans crime was being under the influence and suspicion of forgery!!!

You seem to be reacting as if this is something New, … or rare.??

Just the latest in a string of thousands. But at least there’s been some semblance of appropriate response and penalty this time.

No, the mans crime was even more simple, . he was guilty of being Black.

Very true.

I know it happens all the time, but that should not stop you being outraged.

No, even the police force are shocked at this. A former cop said this is beyond what the training gives, this guy took it way, way too far. I can’t watch it all, far too difficult.

I doubt it. Troubled, maybe

How humiliating is it when Twitter does a fact check on Trump’s tweets on postal votes

Wouldn’t surprise me if he tried to legally force “free speech” (ie no fact checking) on twitter within the next six months

Maybe these folks protesting the murder of George Floyd would have been better off showing up armed to the teeth and wearing camouflage + US flags. Oh, and not being black.
