Just an update - apparently Stadiums Queensland haven’t had the report from the most recent ground inspection yet so they’re holding off on confirming with the AFL that the Gabba is ok, but from the sounds of things they’re now more confident the surface will be up to scratch.

Am told they did raise the prospect of Metricon with the AFL and the Lions last week though, and it wasn’t well received.

Ok my bad - they must’ve got the ground report.

I spoke to someone about it about 2 hrs ago and it was still outstanding.

So in the end it turns out this whole thread was pointless. Apologies all.
