AFL Northern Territory is excited to announce Ryan Nyhuis and Jasmyn Hewett as captains of the 2024 Cazalys NTFL Representative sides who will take on Essendon VFL and VFLW next Wednesday evening.
Former Fremantle draftee and current Nightcliff captain Ryan Nyhuis will lead the Men’s side and Adelaide Crows AFLW premiership player Jasmyn Hewett from PINT will be in charge of the Women’s side. For Nyhuis and Hewett, this will be their third appearance in the famed Ochre colours.
Nyhuis started his junior career at Nightcliff, where he is playing today, with 123 games during his time in the yellow and black before a stint for the Peel Thunder in WAFL featuring in 49 games. Recruited at pick no. 34 in the 2016 Rookie Draft, Nyhuis played 17 games with Fremantle spanning from 2016 to 2019.
During his time at Fremantle, he earned an AFL Rising Star nomination for Round 20 of the 2017 AFL Season.
He has also represented the Northern Territory on 13 occasions in the NEAFL for the NT Thunder.
