So, we’re finally back at Windy hill. 2:05 start on Saturday. Could be a glorious game day in the Melbourne autumn at Windy Hill.

And of course the bastards put the match on at the same time as the seniors. I’m honestly tempted to turn up here rather than Marvel. Or at least leave at half time if the seniors are going the way I expect it will. Should get here partway through Q1 if leave immediately at half time.

The main reason I’m leery is with all the injuries I don’t know who will even be playing.

Intrigued by the squad that gets named! Who gets called up to the AFL squad and who plays in this game. Would think Williamstown an opportunity for some players to play into some form!

They are 3-1 and about 10 spots higher on the ladder so looks like they are already in decent form :rofl:

all the injuries, its only 2 players.

Some are even saying May might be a chance to play now, but I would be shocked, he also got a broken nose from the errant spoil.

It does seem like we are having a few back injuries this year, why?
Increased strength / weight training? - Robey, Fiorini, Kako.

Robey came injured technically.

Fiorini looked no good first 2 games so was likely carrying it for a bit.

Kako probably the only natural back injury so might be something there.

The list feels healthier this year but definitely sounds like everyone’s niggling and carrying something already ie - prior juggling a foot complaint and playing through it.

Um, we were already missing heaps. We only had 11 listed players in the VFL last week. If it’s down to nine that will suck.

Hopefully Bourke, May and Bryan can play at some level.

Red dog apparently playing VFL. Now that is something that may help out backline structure. Should be a good general you would hope to Gerreyn, Johnson and Kondo!

Redman should be straight in the seniors as the defence needs all the help we can muster.

I’d be shocked if he can get through a full VFL game, I’d presume he only played limited minutes this week

yeah, nah he’s 2 weeks ahead of schedule, 1 or 2 weeks in the VFL.

I also think that Hayes is getting close as well to resuming.

Now a vfl backline of Gerreyn, redman, Bourke, Johnson and Kondo is actually interesting.

Redman hopefully can be a general to the 4 young blokes around him.

Hopefully some support for Gerreyn specifically.

If we do get Bryan, Redman, and Bourke back, and either keep Nguyen or he’s replaced by Gresham, that’s not too bad.

One advantage of the timing is the AFL emergency should be able to play this game if they leave when the seniors match starts.

So what. Its a waste of time playing Redman in the VFL when he could offer more in the AFL team.

Depends on if he is only going to play limited minutes this week or not. He might only be playing half game time or something
