Can they pay down field but take ground away from you? Doesn’t make sense.
Voss has to play seniors. One of the few blokes that leads up and takes a contested mark. He is acres ahead of the rest of the VFL squad.

I am pretty sure it can only be paid downfield if the ball is forward of the existing contest. If it isn’t it stays where the ball is at that point. So if they paid downfield and moved it backwards then they stuffed up (if I am right).
